The Guest House
at Elm Run Farms

Enjoy a farm stay in our recently renovated cottage.

This 5-acre lot was part of the original home farm purchased by Ken's great-great-grandpa in 1893.  It was owned by Ken's sister and her husband from 2005-2023.  They built the house and barn.  You can read the story of how we came into ownership of this property in the different chapters on our blog page:  Guest House Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, and Part 5.

Enjoy a peaceful country setting in a quiet farming neighborhood.  You'll be surrounded by pastures, fields, and woods.  Relax with the whole family, experience the farm, enjoy a campfire, explore the woods.  Farm tour optional, depending on the season/weather and the farm/farmers' schedule...let us know if you're interested.

    The house consists of:

    • a main floor with an open living-dining-kitchen space, a master bedroom with private bathroom (and whirlpool tub), another bedroom, a bathroom, a laundry room, and a small cozy "sun room".
    • a finished walkout basement with another open living space (includes a kitchenette), 2 bedrooms, and a bathroom.  Also a ventless propane fireplace.
    • a 2-car garage
    • a deck/patio area
    • a large yard with a fire pit and plenty of space to run!

Three of the bedrooms (including the master) have queen beds.  One of the downstairs bedrooms has 2 sets of bunk beds.

The main kitchen has an oven/range, microwave, refrigerator with ice-maker, dishwasher, coffee-pot/keurig combo, crock pot, blender, toaster, hand mixer, and griddle, and is well-stocked with dinnerware, cookware, bakeware, and many utensils.  There is also a supply of coffee, tea, sweeteners & creamers, and some basic cooking items like spices and oil.  Complimentary eggs and maple syrup from our farm will be available.

The kitchenette downstairs has an oven/range, refrigerator with ice maker, a coffee pot, and some basic dinnerware.

Toiletries supplied are shampoo, conditioner, lotion, body wash, and hand soap.  These are all plant-based with natural fragrances and no harsh chemicals.  There is a hair dryer in each bathroom.

There is a highchair available, and a pack-n-play upon request.  We've stocked a few toys, and some books, coloring/activity books, and games for all ages.

Complimentary eggs and maple syrup provided from our farm.  Collect your own eggs if you want the farm experience (it's not difficult - you don't even have to go inside the pasture!)  Otherwise, we'll leave some in the fridge for you.
